Help! Someone is stealing breakfasts! I went downstairs to eat my breakfast only to find it missing! Syrup was dripping on the floor and my eggs were sliding down the wall. What happened? My sausages were missing and so is my juice. Who would commit such a crime? What’ll I do? I’ll bet my sister did it!
But his sister didn’t do it since she just got out of bed. Jenny convinces Mommy that she didn’t touch the breakfast and turns on TV. She sees the breakfast stealing crime spree reported by News Anchor Pam. She warns everyone to “hold onto your plate!”
A commercial came on featuring a man in a trench coat promising to solve the case by dinnertime. So, brother calls the number on the screen asking for help.
I highly recommend Detective Pancake. It’s a delightful book that children will want to read over and over. Any adult reading it to their child will enjoy how catchy and entertaining it is. Detective Pancake is written in prose but it rhymes. This picture book also has cooking terms cleverly inserted throughout the book. For instance there is 350 Degrees Street, Whisk Lane and Officer Teflon.
